Segovia city is full of important medieval and Renaissance buildings. The first of those monuments dates from the XV century. The cathedral, located in Plaza mayor, is known as 'the grand lady of cathedrals'. It is one of the last gothic buildings to be constructed in Spain and dates from the XVI century.
The Aqueduct was contrived by the Romans, about two thousand years ago, in order to take water from the mountain to the upper part of the city. It's a civil engineering work, which amazes all those people who visit us. It's 166 arches standing on 120 pillars rise 28 metres on the highest point. The whole bridge was built with stones of granite. Each stone remains free of binding agents or cements of any kind.
